Quick question

Hi all! Quick question: how soon before your ICD/PM replacement surgery (due to battery getting low) did you receive notification you'd be getting the surgery? Two weeks? Two months? Thanks!

the last time I went in the pacer clinic the Medtronic rep was there and told me I had about 6 months left on my battery. She told me at 10:10 am I would hear a signal from my unit telling me soon. LOL I am sure the first time I hear it I am going to freak a bit since then at 10:10 I listen closely to my chest I am sure if people see me they think oh that poor man has lost his mind.

You could use that...

Knowing what time the alarm will go off provides a multitude of opportunities!!

Thanks

Thanks everyone! I am currently sending remote transmissions every 4 weeks. Cleveland Clinic told me next I'll send one every two weeks then will have the surgery. I was told last August (2013) that it would need to be replaced some time during the fall of 2014. So, just trying to get a feel for the time frame of notification and be able to plan my work accordingly. I know my device's alarm is a vibration. Better than an audible noise in my opinion! Haha!

You know you're wired when...

You play MP3 files on your pacer.

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.
