DIABETIC CHANGE SINCE PM

Since I had the PM last September my glucose level has changed drastically. I had control of it in the 120"s in the morning before breakfst now its around 180 . I'll see the endocrinologist next visit in a week. Anyone have a similar reaction?

Something about medication

Sorry if I'm a little vague, but I was under Propofol at the time I had the conversation. Things were a little foggy.

Anyway, discussion at that time was because of the trauma I had been through I would be diabetic. Also have read somewhere where Lipitor can cause some people to go towards the diabetic side. In either case, I ended up diabetic. Fortunately it's controlled with Metformin so I only have to take pills and watch my diet.

Question in my mind is that no one in my family is diabetic. Doctors are telling me that has nothing to do with it as I grew up during the age of Sugar Pops for breakfast, as well as the Pepsi/Coke generation. So a combination of bad genetics, diet with too much sugar over the years, a heart condition, and a medication that can push you the wrong way finally pushed me over the edge.

Had already given up soft drinks anyway, don't go for sugary snacks, and was watching my diet because of heart problems anyway. So it just means I have to take two extra pills per day.

Hope your diabetes can be as easily controlled as mine.

I've had type 2 diabetes for over 40 yrs

Im almost 72 and had it for over 40 yrs. diet and exercise fixed it for many yrs. then pills for lots of years then a non insulin shot for many yrs changed the shot 2 times after that and it was fine for a long time with that balance. After the PM it got worse and worse. Just a thought that had something to do with it . Probably its just time for a new med change. Just wanted to ask if anyone had the problem after PM.
