tattoo on thigh?

Hello. I'm 19. And a HUGE pitbull lover. I want to get a tattoo of My dog on my left thigh, I have a pacemaker/defibrillator on my left side of my chest. Would it affect anything if I got it on my thigh? It's probably gonna be bigger than a softball but not much. And do not tell me not to get it that I will regret it , because I won't regret it. My dog is like family. Oh and not to mention, I have 2 tattoos already that I've gotten while I've had the pacemaker/defib. One is on my foot and the other on my left wrist. I've read places talking about talking with your doctor, but I've gotten these before without consulting him. Let me know what you think. Thanks so much. :)

Tattoos and pacemakers

I have a very good friend who is an amazing artist and tattoo artist. I was told by my surgeon that future tattoos should be just fine as long as they are not over the implant site.

It is absolutely fine to get a tattoo anywhere on your body, except as Pandabear says, NOT over your implant site.

I love tattoos too, but haven't had any new ones since I got my PM 6 months ago. I hope that changes in the near future!

Good luck to you!

A properly implanted and adjusted pacemaker will not even be noticeable after you get over the surgery.
