PM no help for me!!

I have a heart condition as the result of a heart attack 20 years ago. In 2013 I was getting shortness of breath walking up a ramp at the airport. I had a virus 6 months before and my cardiologist thought either the virus or medication I received caused more damage to my heart. After a stress test and some other test my cardiologist recommended a PM. He said it would be a 50-50 chance it would help and I would get immediate improvement after implantation. I got no improvement, surgical Dr. said it doesn't always help.

I started working out at fitness center on the treadmill and slowly my heart him has improved. I would like to have PM removed. Any chance this will happen???

Why?

I don't understand what condition the PM was supposed to correct. But even more, I don't understand why you want it removed. Is it causing a problem?

You feel you have gotten better despite it, but are your feelings backed up by a Holter Monitor test? Does the PM ever kick on to assist your heart? Or do you know for a fact that it doesn't?

You need to weigh the pro's and con's of removing the PM with your doctor and to make sure you don't need it, and are unlikely to need it in the future, before you pursue having it removed.
