Weird Indention

I am 5 weeks post op and woke up yesterday with ton of energy.
Starting to feel like my old self again. Then after I got out of the shower this morning I noticed an Indention running about middle of pacemaker set, top yo bottom. I have an area with a small scab on the incision site snd Indention runs close to it. Strange!! I do not feel bad. Anyone else had something like this? Going to Dr in the morning. Texted him a picture and he said nothing to worry about but idk if it is normal!

scab on incision

Hi Hearthrob,

Not sure about the indentation you are talking about, but when I went in for my 4 week check-up I said I had a tight, pulling feeling around my incision. The Dr. looked at it and noticed there was a scab on one end. I had noticed it too. He determined there was still a stray stitch in there that had not dissolved with the rest of them. After a lot of pulling and tugging and pain and breaking open the incision some he finally got it out and the next day the tight pulling feeling was gone and I felt a lot better.

Good luck with your doc tomorrow. Hopefully it is nothing to worry about. Glad you feel good otherwise!

Take care,
~Sheila

stray stitch

I bet it is! Especially if you have a pulling feeling. I kept wondering why that scab was still there. lol I will be anxious to hear what he says.

I don't know how it is where you are, but I had to see my doc after my first check w/ the PM nurse and I was glad I did because she told me that feeling was normal and that it could last another 6 months to a year!

Sheila I was wondering if that little spot could be a stitch.
Dr. is not seeing me tomorrow. I believe it is an
assistant at the pacemaker clinic.
I will post tomorrow when I get checked out.
I do feel slight pulling like stitch wants to get out Lol

good news

I'm so glad to hear this was the issue. My problem with the stitch removal was because the Dr. had some really dull scissors. I looked at my husband while the doc was pulling & tugging and thought "you could do a lot better job without near as much pain and you are a mailman - lol" Maybe the indentation had something to do with that stitch. Glad it's better too!

Take care,

What it was

by @Heartthrob - 2014-07-31 01:07:36

you were right! The nurse removed the little scab area and uncovered a stitch. She removed it with no pain. She said the indention was nothing to worry about . It is actually less noticeable than yesterday .

I also had an indentation post surgery. My close up was done with glue and derma plast (no stitches). The derma plast was peeled the next morning after surgery. The indentation showed up some weeks after surgery. Turned out it was swelling that wasn't obvious (at least to me). Hope all is well!
