I have a St. Jude pacemaker with 2 leads. It is about 4 months old. I could have sworn I just heard it screech sound from it. Not a beep and screech.
Do pacemakers make a noise for an alert? I may be crazy but just checking.

patient notifier?

I'd call St Jude and ask them... sounds like what's known as the patient notifier feature. Was the sound 2 tone and last for 6 seconds?
My St. Jude has an alert tone

Hi Texstr,
I have a St. Jude CRT-P. Mine has an alert tone that sounds like an old fashioned German police siren (high tone/low tone/high tone/low tone). It isn't very loud at all, and strangely enough, it's difficult to tell it's coming from me when you hear it.
My PM tech tests it once in a while so I can get used to the sound in case it goes off. The next time you have your PM check, ask if your PM model has the alert. I was told that not all models have one. If it does, they can easily test it so you can hear it.
Let us know what you find out.
Thank you

Sorry, can't find anything

I did an internet search regarding the St Jude model and can not find anything regarding any signals it may emit. I don't have that model so I don't have any specific information.
Do you have a home monitoring system? If so, you may want to call your EP and ask them if they see anything or are aware of the noise you described.
Good luck and I hope you find an answer.
