Lattitude Communicator

Hey everyone. I have a Boston Scientific Pacemaker and the doctors office gave me a Latitude Nxt Wave Communicator yesterday. Just getting ready to set it up.

Would love to know your thoughts about these or any monitors in general.

Thanks. Have a good one!

I have one and am on the Boston Scientific SAMURI study for pacemakers that are MRI compatible. I have already had my MRI and neither I nor the pacemaker blew up, so all is well! It seemed very complicated to find a spot to set up the Latitude.

My body had to be within 8-10'? (check your directions carefully on all of this) of the monitor when it was time for it to send the dairy self check. Ask your ep or call Boston Scientific to find out that time. Mine is a little after midnight. Other wireless things had to be 11' away. The monitor had to be plugged into a phone jack (not near a computer or phone base or other monitor) and near an electrical outlet. My husband and I both have CPAP machines and mine had a monitor on it also, which had to be 11' away from the Latitude. We had extension hoses from the CPAP and long electric extension cords all over the place and had to use different bedrooms at first while the CPAC monitor was transmitting to medicare to prove that I was using it.

Now it is a piece of cake, and is supposed to protect me by sending information back and forth if necessary and cutting out some of the trips to the doctor's office. I actually met the woman in the heart rhythm center who receives my messages daily.

i have a merlin home communicator and love it. same setup as others have mentioned. mine reads me somewhere between 2-4 AM. then information is transmitted to center which notifies doc or clinic if there is a problem either by phone or fax. clinic also reviews online whenever they want to check.

i can also talk to clinic while they bring up my information. it makes for a sense of security especially for me since this is all new.. 5 weeks out.

hope it works out for you-

Helllo PCrews,
I have a Latitude as well, and a Boston Scientific. It just does its thing and I do mine. I pushed the button one time to make sure it was recorded but I found out that most of my symptoms are from the prescriptions I am on and isn't really related to the pacemaker.
Hope all goes well for you I am sure it will.
Best, Scout

Thanks Capecod. I'm about 4 weeks now May 13th. A new learning experience.
