One year ago

I have not posted in a very long time, but I continue to visit the site frequently. Tomorrow I will be celebrating what has become know as my re-birthday. One year ago (I cannot believe it's been a year) I received my pacemaker for complete heart block. I had a very difficult time coping with this. I just wanted to drop in and say thank you to everyone here!! I would not be where I am today if not for folks like you!! Your encouragement, understanding, and support helped me get through the depression, fear, and anger. Please continue to encourage all new members the way you encouraged me!

Hi, boysmom, and happy "re-birthday." Like you, I received a PM for complete heart block. It's only been a couple of months for me; sometimes, I admit, it seems surreal that the body I had taken for granted all these years, turned around and "betrayed" me by developing a life-threatening condition.

I keep telling myself, "You're ok now, don't worry," and I imagine you have learned some similar self-talk to get yourself past the tough times. I don't know you, but I'm betting you're stronger than you think.
