All is good so far. Prior to my pm, I would get lightheaded and just about hit the deck. Twice so far, I have begun to feel that way, but then almost immediately I feel O.K. Guess that's my "thumper" as my son calls it doing its job. Sleep eludes me so far as I cannot find a comfortable position and sat in a chair most of the night. Pain is eased with an ice pack. Planning on going shopping today (NO- not driving myself).. We will see how that goes.

yea! doesnt it feel good to have it behind you? i am 3 weeks out and am still sleeping on my back. im too chicken go on my left side and i agree with sunnywishes. there is a pulling feeling when i roll to the right although it is slowly lessening (or im getting used to it.). i also place my left arm on a small pillow-that works great and supports my arm and shoulder. also prevents someone from rolling into you!

It's over for you and you're doing better! I didn't have too much problem sleeping because i'm normally a back sleeper anyway especially with my CPAP. sorry to hear you're having issues with pain and sleeping though! Ice works great at keeping pain and inflammation down! It's interesting because I found once I got my PM I actually slept much better than before! I know it sounds weird but I think before the PM my heart was going like a constant roller coaster (a very steep one I might add ha) since the PM it's leveled it out so it doesn't dip so much. Hope things continue to go good for you.

...can be a real problem at first.
Did they give you any pain narcotics? There is nothing wrong w/ taking them if the pain is so bad it keeps you awake. You need the sleep.
Some people have that kind of pain. Others have nothing but discomfort. Don't suffer needlessly. It should dissipate in a few days under normal circumstances.

great news!

Other than the no sleep part, sounds like you are doing well. What Don said, if you are in too much pain to sleep, then take something for it. Ice is great, too.I found it was easier to sleep hugging a small pillow with my sore arm, that kept it down and kept me from rolling onto that side as soon as I fell asleep.
You know you're wired when...
Bad hair days can be blamed on your device shorting out.

Sleeping

I am 4 days post op and I agree with the sleeping. I have always been a side sleeper. Hate sleeping on my back. Last night rolled over on my right side, woke up a little later in pain from a pulling feeling. I got up and went to my recliner, was able to curl in a ball hugging my pillow and slept the best I have since my surgery.
