How does my new PM fit into the medical actions taken at the end of my life?
How does the medical profession treat PMs in terminal cases?
Does my Living Will need revision to specify that the PM is to be deactivated when my medical condition is at that point beyond which I only want Comfort Care ?
My ten day old PM is working well - but I do not want it to act counter to my end-of-life interests
BTW... this club has been a big help for this newbie.

PM and End Of Life

Thanks for your comments.
A hospice nurse says that it is not their practice to disengage PM's with or without a medical directive.
I do not understand since the PM seems to be a device that is intended to artificially prolong life. Perhaps the PM has little or no affect on terminal diseases themselves.
I may be paying too much attention to what is a non-issue.

I live an extremely normal life now and my device does NOT hinder me in any way.
Since you mentioned it

Azviking,
I'm glad you brought this up.
I resisted getting a PM because I didn't want something that would keep me going when there was essentially no quality of life. And yet I hadn't thought about the need to amend my Living Will.
Thanks for the heads-up!
