Implant

I think one of the issues is that the dissolvable stitches have not fully dissolved and I can feel them just under the surface so the scar is tender and itches. My daughter and son have both had similar issues with stitches. Our body just doesn't want them in :) for me a hot shower over the site really helps. It would make me too nervous putting an electrical heating pad over the pacemaker. I'll have to look that up or ask the doc.

Se your DR. and if he doesn't help you get a different one. You should not be in pain. JMHO.

Achy

Got my pm in 2010, and it still aches inside from time to time. Less so now than before. When I first got my pm, it was like a constant weight/ache. It is, after all, a foreign object in your body. The people at my cardiologist's office said because I am on the small side (I am 5' and about 100 lbs), it would make sense that I would feel it more than others.

stitches

Hi,

3 weeks after my implant when I went in for my first checkup I told them that I kept feeling a tight, pulling feeling. It didn't really ache or wasn't painful but it was causing me a lot of discomfort. The doc looked at my incision and noticed a small scab that had not yet fallen off. After checking further he noticed a stitch had not dissolved. He pulled and tugged and finally got it out - it hurt like heck but I felt so much better the very next day.

Good luck to you,
~Sheila
