Hey it's me AGAIN :/ Ok so I got my implant 5 days ago and I've been having a Sudden Sharp stabbing pain in the center of my chest it started yesterday and just happened again and now I feel my pacemaker tapping and Although I'm sitting down I feel a little dizzy? I guess if it continues maybe I need to go into the ER although I REALLY don't want to do that.

It is better to go to the ER and find out that you are O.K., than not to go and somebody else find that you weren't O.K.

I had the tapping sound/feeling too in the very early days.

Chest pain is probably in the chest wall and it's not harmful. HOWEVER . . . you need to have it checked. I went to the ER a lot the first month too. So embarrassing and annoying but it must be done.

Hang in there Stormy. This will go away very soon.

Stormy....the anxiety you're obviously feeling happens to many "newbie" PM patients. You will become more comfortable with your new "friend". Just give yourself time to heal, and keep posting here, ask ALL the questions you want and need to, we all have been there, we understand.

After saying this, go to the ER and have that pain checked out. Be safe, not sorry. Keep us posted. Sunny

So.....I had the same pain yesterday too and it's kind of frustrating because every time I call the surgeon's office they just say go to the ER. So just to be sure I did have my son take me down there and they said my heart and lungs are good so it's most likely my body adjusting to the implant and the two leads. Thursday night the chest x-ray showed a little fluid and some of the sacs in my lower left lung not fully inflating but tonight showed some improvement. The ER doc said that is pretty normal, almost expected, when surgery is done on the chest so anyway I have my post-op follow up on Thursday. Thanks for your support.
