General question

Newbie here. Medtronic Sensia implanted 01 May 2014. Are there any cardiologists that follow these posts? Or are mostly all the answers based on experiences or guestimations?

We Have the Devices

by NiceNiecey - 2014-05-14 03:05:09

I love my cardiologist and his nurse (forget the technician!) but none of them actually HAS a device in their chest. I sincerely doubt physicians are wasting their time on our site but I think they could learn some valuable things.

Nothing beats experience, whether it's in having a baby, sailing a boat, using a piece of machinery, or driving a car. I have found the support here that I initially thought I didn't need. And I have learned how to express what I'm experiencing with my PM to my doctor as a result of the learning that has taken place at the PM Club (sounds like a bar!).

In summation, this isn't a doctor site; It is a first-hand experience site.

Good luck with your new device!

Hi,

Are there any cardiologist on here...yes only when they want/need information from the experts on here (and they do come on here). You will get a better answer to your problems from people with first-hand experience.

All posts are answered by MEMBERS. This site has no professional staff, if that is your question. We have members from all walks of life. Over the years, we have had nurses, NP's, a couple of reps from pm companies, engineers, one author who's written the manuals for pm's for a number of companies, but to my knowledge no cardiologists. We had one member last year who represented himself as an EP but he gave crazy advice enough times that my guess is he worked around EP's but was not one.

Don't come here for medical advice. We are for support, your dr is in charge of your care. That said, many of us have been around this block a few times and between us have many years of experience being cardiac patients. That doesn't make us experts, but sometimes we can help you figure what questions to ask.

Thanks

Thanks for all the encouraging feedback. This is my first PPM and I was looking for a support group to perhaps aide in this new life with this device. My apologies to anyone I may have offended. Thanks again.

You know you're wired when...

Bad hair days can be blamed on your device shorting out.
