The documentation with my PM just mentions arc welders. However, if you read through the posts here you would be amazed at what people do with large industrial equipment and never have an issue.
Just my guess is that you would be fine as long as you don't have it resting on your PM or something. However, you probably should check with the manufacturer of the welder and then your doctor because I am guessing you'll need some kind of documentation before they'll let you back to work?
