Merlin

Just got a Merlin for the home and now was told it will not work with my type of home phone service. Told the doctors office about the phone service before picking it up--now I will have to drive 110 miles one way. Looks like as much money they get for all the research the could come up will a better deal

What about

What about local doctor's office? Maybe GP in local town would let you transmit from his/her office? That would save you a trip. What about calling phone company and see if they have any suggestions? The most you're out is a call - and some frustration.

A four hour round trip to get a reading isn't any fun. So I don't argue about making the trip.

Hope this helps.

I do not have a landline, so opted for the cellular transmitter. It is a separate attachment approximately double the size of a flash drive. It has an added charge of $16.00 per month which is automatically withdrawn; however this can be a tax write off. The hours to call for the merlin cellular transmitter are very limited 10am-2pm. The number is 1-877-300-3606. Hope this helps!

Celllular Transmitter

I had a PM put in Feb 5, 2014. I came home from hospt with a Merlin with a celllular transmitter. It sits on my night stand by my bed and automatically collects data from my St. Jude PM at 2:00am and sends the data to a web site. I live in Denver and the cell service works fine.

Merlin

I have a Merlin and my pm is made by St. Jude. St. Jude told me that if I decide to get rid of my landline, that I can get a cellular transmitter, and that they knew there was some monthly charge. So far, I haven't pursued this alternative.
