Received my PM yesterday. All went good, feel pretty good. The doctor had me on bed rest for 24 hours, I think that was the worse. My lower back started hurting from laying in bed. Not much pain, kept ice pack on it like recommended by several on this site. That definitely helps. Looks like it is really going to bruise.
The anticipation of the surgery was the pits. Glad it is over and ready to get out and start walking and feeling better. They have it set at 50, and I have been hanging around there. But all is good. Glad it is done and I can start living again.

It's always a tough wait.
Now the recovery starts for you. Take it a step at a time.

Sounding good. Yes you probably will be bruised. I was surprised by how much and the large area my bruises covered. Guess they can really get rough when forming the pocket for the PM. Good news is that the bruises will fade away. Ice does help.
Take it slow and listen to your body. I couldn't tolerate sitting for very long so at first I'd get up frequently and walk around in the house, sit for a while and walk. I have an exercise bike and found that was good to get moving again.
Once you've healed up you can see how you feel and if you need any tweaks to your settings. They will tell you everything is working fine which means the PM is doing what it's programmed to do. Only you know if the settings are right for you. Make sure to get a copy of your PM interrogation report. It will have all the info on your device. Also it would be good to update your member profile with your device info. It helps if you have questions.
All the best

50 is good because...

...you can avoid excessive ventricular pacing, which is some patients is said to cause heart failure hospitalization. If you do have ventricular pacing a majority of the time, watch your ventricular ejection fraction or end-systolic volume over time and know that if you experience heart failure, you can be cured by restoring cardiac conduction system activation at the His bundle.
