Appointment

Well, Tomorrow is the day I go back to the Cardiologist to find out if I will be getting a PM. I am very nervous and but will be relieved to find out some answers. I am so glad I came across this website. Reading the post on this website has actually made me feel better, and if he says that I need one, I know I will be ok. And hey I may even feel better, right.

I may be getting a PM because my HR has been in the 40’s and I get( I call it) swimmy head a lot. I just got done wearing an event monitor for 3 weeks. The last week and half I had bronchitis and a sinus infection. I think I coughed at least a million times. Not sure how that showed up as on the monitor. I was also taking medicine and it made my HR in the 70’s. The first week though I had several days that it was in the low 40’s. So not sure what all will come of that. So I will have to see. Wish me luck.

Sounds about like what I went thru. Last year they discovered I had PSVT (proximal supravevtricular tachycardia) after putting me on meds for a few weeks they decided to do ablation when they got in there they discovered afib but ablated it. Then a few months later went into afib again so put me on medication. Never really did feel all that great still. Finally this January I had an event where I was rushed from work because the whole top half of me went to sleep never really found out what that was but it got me a 30 day monitor where they discovered I had SSS. I received PM. On April 7 and I feel better than I have for years!!! You've come to a great place with lots of knowledgable people. This has been a great support to me and others. Good luck and keep us posted.. If it is a PM that you need it's an easy fix and you'll feel better!!

Just curious if they mentioned anything like heart block or SSS?? Doesn't really matter bradycardia is bradycardia and a PM will most likely take care of it and you'll start feeling better!! I know I did!!! Keep us posted!! interestingly I got my dx on Friday and on Monday they implanted my device and magic!!

Getting one

Well, The doctor said that I needed one. He let me make the decision if I wanted to do it now. I ended up saying yes. Hope it is the right decision. I know it is. I want to start feeling better, quit worrying and stressing about it and move on. I think it will be good. They are calling me today to schedule.
I was shocked that it is an outpatient procedure. Wow crazy. Loved it when the doctor said , yeah you come in they make a small incision, put in and go home that night. It is nothing. Easy for him to say right.

He said my heart looks healthy it is just too slow. He diagnosed me with Chronic Bradycardia, SSS and Malaise fatigue. He plans on setting it at 50 which still seems low. He said if he sets it higher I would be pacing all the time. So we will see. I am hoping to feel better. They scheduled the surgery for May 15th.

You know you're wired when...

You fondly named your implanted buddy.
