I am a 43 year who had my first pm on March 18 2014. I had third degree block. I had my pm settings adjusted once to let me sleep. My blood pressure was normal before PM and now is 147/100 which I know is a little high. Dr said that happens . I also feel a small pressure in my face and head. It is not painful but more annoying. Anyone else have these symptoms after surgery?

The voltage in your PM may be set at a higher level. Post implant and before the 90 day period they had the voltage on my PM set to a higher level. Higher voltage gave me a harder "thump" with each heartbeat and a higher blood pressure.
At the 90 day checkup on my PM they dropped the voltage. Atrial is .875 volt - don't know what the higher voltage was set to. Checked the PM printout but it didn't say.
Prior to them dropping the voltage I was getting pain in my jaw, a "thump" with each heartbeat while lying in bed, and some pain under my clavicle where the leads went into the vein. After they dropped the voltage the pain and "thump" went away. Started sleeping better at night as the "thump" didn't keep waking me up.
You could check with your EP and see if the voltage is set higher. They may not want to drop it before the 90 day period but, at the least, you'd know why you have a higher BP.
Hope this helps.

Give it a bit more time

I've had my first PM since Christmas Eve and I, too, am now experiencing high (actually it's moderate) BP. I had never had this before in my life; in fact, quite the opposite.
I did experience the light headed feeling and just exhausted and crappy for the first 6-8 weeks. Give yourself some time to adjust. Even though the doctors and nurses will tell you everything should be perfectly fine, more than likely, they don't have a device in their chest. All the book knowledge in the world cannot substitute for the actual experience.
Keep checking the Pacemaker Club. I have found it enormously helpful.

I had my pm put in on Oct 23, 2013. I am also 43yrs old and had the same 3rd degree heart block too--nothing else wrong with the heart. I have a normal blood pressure (117 over 78), but do feel that pressure in my head, but its more like a foggy feeling throughout the day very annoying. No one can figure it out either.
I am also suffering with frozen shoulder from the procedure.
I have been in therapy for months and getting some relief, thankfully there was no nerve damage. So please move your arm as much as you can.
