I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
Same here :(

Hi!
I'm in the same boat at the moment, except for the pin point white areas in the incision line. Did you get the antibiotics without any prior labwork? Sounds like it. I had lab work done, no signs for an infection. And since there also is no redness or swelling and the skin doesn't feel warm, no antibiotics for me. But I do have some free fluid around the upper right and left edge of the pacemaker. They are thinking that it's caused by the new pacer irritating the tissue surrounding it. Was told to hang in there for another 4-6 weeks. Not that easy. I was getting better, but now had another very painful weekend. I'm not afraid that it's an infection, but worried that the pacemaker might be placed in a way that's just not comfortable for me, and that this could in the end lead to yet another surgery (would be no. 8 in just 15 years). I take painkillers whenever I can't stand the pain, and I'm trying to get some distraction.
Hang in there! Treat yourself to something and maybe try the distraction strategy, too.
