On your baby girl!
There are parents on this site that have newborns and little ones with pacemakers. I'm sure some will be along sometime later to talk to you.
There are also others on the site that have had their pacemakers since shortly after birth.
TraceyE has some wonderful advice for parents with children who have pacemakers and heart conditions. She will come by later too.
Glad you found us. Enjoy your baby!

Should hear

You should hear from other parents on this site. From what I've read on this forum the kids go on to lead an almost (99%) normal life. You'll be much more in danger of getting gray hair from your child's normal activities than spending time worrying about the pacemaker. As it should be.
Some things to remember:
There is nothing around the typical house that will affect the pacemaker. You don't have to worry about electrical outlets, microwave ovens, WiFi internet, etc. Your profile says you live in Doha, Qatar so there shouldn't be anything to affect the pacemaker.
Most small children can't do anything to damage the pacemaker or the leads so you don't have to worry about that.
Encourage your child to enjoy life. It is a big world and there is a lot to see and do.
My best wishes go with you and your child.

Almost 10 years ago my beautiful granddaughter Aletheia was born with heart block due to neo natal lupus. She was paced at 3 days. At 5 days she had a bout of heart failure and was medicated. We had fears of losing her before she reached 6 months. Well - we did not lose her. She has had a wonderful life as a baby, toddler, and now a lovely young girl with good grades, and lots of friends at school. She will always have a heart problem - and while no Doctor or hospital can give you any guarantees - please learn to enjoy your little blessing and live each day fully. You may have trips to the hospital and she may develop some fears about medical procedures - but she will be a joy to you that you would never want to have missed - in spite of all the medical issues. We have found our strength in the Bible and the Lord Jesus Christ - I hope our experience helps you. "Children are a blessing of the Lord". By the way - my daughter had a second child, a boy, who also has heartblock but at 4 and a half still has no need for a pacemaker or medications.
I understand your worries - but don't let them ruin what you have today.
