I had a pacemeker installed 7 weeks ago. There is only one, on demand setting which is for it to activate if my heart beat goes below 40 per minute. I feel good with no dizziness or threat of fainting which were my problems before the pacemaker was inserted. I am doing some light physical activities but no lifting with left arm over 10 pounds and do not put left elbow over my head.
Does playing billiards (8 ball) constitute raising your elbow over your head? Should I avoid it?
Thank you,

Shoot Biliards...

...that's a gentleman's game. It has cushions all around; no pockets. It takes a cool eye & steady arm to bank the cue ball off the three cushions & hit one of the other balls. Harken to the classic words of Professor Harold Hill: Ya got trouble - right here in River City. That starts w/ "T," That rhymes w/ "P," And that stands for POOL!
Read what Dizzy says above - paid her way through college playing 8 Ball! Ha! That's nothing - I paid someone else's way through college playing 9 Ball.
BTW: All that restriction stuff usually ends at 6 weeks - time to take up the gentleman's sport - Billiards - along w/ other exercise gettint that left arm up there & moving.

Those limits were for the first 6 weeks only. Do what you want now.

Question of pain

The question is how much force you put on the arm while playing billiards. I don't think it will be that much.
I do knot work and some of the drawing tight of the cordage takes more than 10 pounds of force. So I held off fancy knot work until after the 4 to 6 weeks time period.
The next thing is force on your leads. If you put too much force on the leads they will hurt. And I mean, "Hurt". I was tossing a ball for the dog, and the leads really started to hurt. So I had to back off that activity for about three months.
So if you start shooting billiards and your leads hurt, you'll need to stop.
Besides, a few weeks out of your life not playing billiards isn't that much. With the PM you've got a long time to practice.
Worst case scenario ... Get some books from the library on billiard strategy.
I'll be up in the Hamilton area in September. Will look around for anyone playing billiards.
Hang in there. Life gets better.
