Australia Day

Hi Jessie
Australia Day seems to be our national Day. It is celebrated in January and will be on 26 January 2013. It is a public holiday and if you Google "Australia Day History" you should find all the details there of how Australia celebrates.
Yes, I did become an Australian but not after a long time of being in Australia. I only took out citizenship in about l998 as if I stayed overseas for too long I would be "locked" out of Australia. I came to Australia in l960. That part of my life and decision is a long story. I still have my English passport albeit expired and waiting to be renewed.
Australia day is usually celebrated in different ways in all states. Mostly it is surf, sun and BBq's and rememberance of the settlement of the country. I am not good at history so hope this helps with your enquiry. I will talk to you soon via private message/email. Tons of love Billie
