Whither MRI?

Today I learned I might need an MRI, but the orthopedist doubted if any hospital in my small NC city would be up to the task. My PM is not MRI compatible.

I know it can be done at Johns Hopkins and I would travel there if necessary, but I'd rather stay closer to home if I can. Does anyone know if Duke, UNC or Bowman Gray have MRI capability for PM patients? Or somewhere else--in Virginia or the Carolinas, even Georgia?

BTW the dr was really impressed at how much I knew about MRI and PMs. I didn't tell him I learned it all at the PM Club.

How old are your leads? If they're less than 10 years old, they should be able to find a place able to do it. I'd start with Duke or Baptist, whichever is closer.

Thanks for clearing this up

Thanks Tracey.

My leads are 3&1/2 years old. I guess I'll try Duke first since I've already seen a PE there.
