Video showing PM surgery

Hi Everyone,

I found this interesting 6 minute video on YouTube showing PM surgery. I think it's pretty good and really shows what the procedure is like. I found it after my surgery and wasn't sure at first if I could watch it but I did and it has a little blood but nothing too horrible.

Hope everyone is doing well!
Take care,

I watched this video before I had my PM implanted in Aug 2013.i asked my family if they wanted to watch it, too, and my sister and niece who accompanied me to the hospital that it was informative.

The doctor who does the procedure in the video explains the process well. Being an informed patient is a good thing and reduces anxiety.

I watched, also

I just watched this video also. It was easy to find. I just Googled YouTube pacemaker surgery and it was the first video listed. I only had two nickle-size bruises on my left side afterward. I am recently watching other pelvic surgery videos of stuff I will face in July -- not as simple as this video, but a great way to be informed and know what questions to ask beforehand.

I am also glad I have the pacemaker in now - not wait for it to be a "surprise". It will probably be set at a constant 70 beats during surgery. I will meet with the anesthesiology 3 weeks before and one of the EP team with be at the surgery to adjust the pacemaker. I had just talked to the heart rhythm dept. this morning at the U. of Chicago when I was there to sit in on my husbands regular appointment with his cardiologist. It's great to know the people working on you beforehand.

Thanks
