Hi Everyone,
Today is my 2 month PM implant anniversary. I am happy to say I am doing really well and almost back to 100% of where I was before my surgery. Since I had no symptoms prior (no shortness of breath, no extreme fatigue, no exhaustion while exercising - NOTHING) except 2 syncope episodes one evening, I really don't feel much different and since I just have 2nd degree heart block my Dr. told me it would be that way. He said since I was in good health to begin with my recovery should go fairly easy and it has. My scar is healing nicely and other than some occasional minor discomfort at times, I hardly know it's there, although I do think about it all the time. I have been doing lots of hiking and walking and am slowly starting to get back to my weight routine using really light weights. I am trying hard to get rid of the 8-10 pounds I gained while recovering and get my muscle tone back.
While I still really don't like the fact that I had to get the PM I am over the shock of it and have come to accept it as part of my life now. I know I need it and that it will be there for me so I can live normally and without worry about fainting ever again. When I look at my scar I see it as something that makes me unique and defines who I am as a person. I am at peace with it now and am happy to be alive.
This group has really helped me and I am so grateful I found it. I wish everyone the best. Take care and enjoy your day!
~Sheila
