Does it stay at 180 and for how long does it stay at 180?
Because if it reaches 180 momentarily or not long and comes back to under 100, then you might be OK.
And are the beats out of sync or just fast?
Can you describe more clearly?

You are possibly experiencing SVT s ( Supra ventricular tachycardias ) If they occur infrequently and don't cause worrying symptoms then they are nothing to worry about.

I get them occasionally.

If they start happening often , then see your Dr and he will probably give you a medication. to control them.

There are other explanations so seek medical advice if you are at all worried

It feels in sync, just fast. During the night it dropped to 80's for a while then back to 180. This morning it's back to the 80's, and has been for several hours. Thank goodness.

It does not seem right. I think you should go for a check up asap. Better to be told all is well than have a problem which is not treated.
