Minor tingling feelings in my heart.

Just had a Medtronic Adapta DR pm implanted on 12/20/13. No issues post implant. Recently every once in awile I get a tingling feeling for a second or two and it goes away. Should I be concerned? In addition, I have notice that my BP has been evaluated on an inconsistent basis. Any concern here?

BP situation and tingling

Give your body time to settle into the new reality. I had a lot of trauma before getting my PM so I had a lot of new sensations and pain to work through.

At first, I could actually feel the PM when it kicked in and forced my heart to beat. Was hoping the sensation would go away and it did after a few weeks.

Pain in a lot of other places that gradually went away as my body adjusted. Won't bore you with the details as I've posted comments before about the various pains. I imagine some of the regular posting people on this forum think I'm a pain too. Anyway....

At my cardiac rehab I have been talking with cardiac patients who received stents. They get an occasional poke and tingly feeling. Their bodies are adjusting to the new reality. All are glad something could be done and they are glad to be up and running around.

If it was a problem, you'd get a knock-you-on-the-floor pain and you'd know something was wrong. Or you would be running a fever. If you don't and you aren't you can ignore the tingly feeling. Worst case is you're feeling the PM kick starting your heart. Best case is your brain is imagining something.

BP- after everything I went through, my BP was all over the place. Ended up going to the hospital one night because I took my BP. It was elevated. I took it again. It was elevated more. Waited a couple of hours. It was elevated more. Started hyperventilating and called 911. Doctors at the hospital said I mentally talked myself into the BP elevation and gave me morphine to calm me down. No BP problems. So I quit taking my BP because I didn't need the mental stress.

I've got the Medtronic too. It's an amazing piece of machinery. Hopefully you'll settle in and start feeling better.

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.
