looks like PM for me

After 2 1/2 months of waiting and many test. The EPS is done. The EP said it was so so normal just a little mis-fire. Atfer we discussed the passing out and low HR we decided a PM was needed. I am good with that, @ 59 1/2 years old looking forward to being able to run and ride again.

Thanks for having this site.

EP suggested MRI Compatible

by wjs1954 - 2014-02-08 02:02:29

Because of my age and because I am a ruuner. He said it could be adjusted for my activity level, not to worry. he said their were a few disadvantages but MRI compatible is the way to go. Got to go with him, he was a runner back in college and understands my frustration.

Rate response needed?

by golden_snitch - 2014-02-08 07:02:05

Hi Wally!

Do you know if you'll need the pacer's rate response? Because, if you do, and you want to be able to run and ride (bike?) again, discussing which rate response sensor to go with can be important. Not all pacer models have the same sensor. Usually, a combination of accelerometer and minute ventilation sensor is the best for active people, but only two manufacturers offer this: Boston Scientific and Sorin. Biotronik's closed loop stimulation is another option. All the other pacers, for instance by Medtronic, have accelerometer only which might limit your ability to ride your bike, because it needs to sense upper body movement to respond.

Just something you might want to ask your cardio about.

Good luck with the implant & hope you'll feel better soon!
