Finding it strange.

Finally have a surgery date of Mar 6th. CRT-D. Since Feb 9th, I've had pneumonia. Finished a 10 day course of antibiotic on Wednesday. Had preadmission clinic on Monday. They said we're still going ahead. Yesterday I saw my GP. She said that I still have pneumonia & put me on another 7 day course of antibiotics. She was surprised that the surgery is still scheduled for Mar 6th.

Well I guess I just hope for the best & get it done. Waited too long for a surgery date. Any comments?

You will be better by March 6th? Is your GP going to clear you for surgery or does she have her concerns?

If it were me Drew, I would get more answers and want my Doctors to be on the same page.

Hope you feel better.

Was admitted as an emergency for a PM but when the EP noted I had a urinary tract infection he would not do the surgery until the infection cleared up. Returned a week later and still had infection and was discharged again without surgery. I remember him saying "I will not put in a metal device if you have an infection. Almost three weeks later I was cleared for the PM insertion and it went off without a hitch. Please make sure you are medically cleared for the surgery. Having pneumonia is a serious lung issue and you went to be completely recovered before the implant, Good luck and don't let them pressure you into a date your body is not ready for.

You know you're wired when...

You get your device tuned-up for hot dates.

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.
