Hello, I'm 18 years old (still in high school) and I've had a pacemaker since I was three. I was born with tetarology of fallot and several other complications. I was wondering if theres any high schoolers on here living with a pacemaker? I'm pretty sure I'm the only person in my school to have one, so hey I enjoy being different ! :)

I have tetrarology of fallot as well but I'm currently 27 years old. I got my first pacemaker at 17 as well as another open heart surgery. It's fun being different I think!

Hey i'm 19 and graduated high school 2 years ago and just had a PM/ICD put in about 3 months ago. I suffer from LQT and went into caridac arrest at my work. Basically just dropped dead (lol), didn't see it coming. However since I don't remeber any of it becasue of short term memory loss, I have just been embracing it almost as a gift. I enjoy being different too! :) definitely still getting use to all that comes with this device but gotta keep going!

Close enough? There are some younger people on here. If you join the icd support group (separate forum) you will instantly feel like an infant. The people there are great, but it's an older demographic.
You might be surprised how many people have devices at your school. I have met 2 other people at my current school with them. (Granted, we have 15,000 students, but you get my point)
I'm almost 21!

We have quite a few teens pass through, very few stay around and post regularly. Good for you embracing being different! How boring the world would be if we were all the same.
