cold weather

I had a pace-maker put in in April. On Dec. 8 -13, we had an ice storm and I had thrown salt and sand down. After a few hours I went out and just pushed the ice to the side. after a 1 1/2 hour my chest felt funny. It turned out to b A-fib. I was wondering if the pacemaker got cold and had issures.

Probably not , you probably just did some extensive working and got your heart pumping good ... which is a good thing , exercise is great ! Do it more often .... Only electrical current could mess the pacer up .... Just don't stick your wet hands into the socket :)

The pm is internal, it stays the same temperature as your body.

...feeling is the effect of cold air transitting your airway from nose to lungs. That stuff can make the heart feel the cold very nicely, thank you.

It's time for you to hire a teen-ager too just "Push the ice to the side." You are courting disaster.

Cold will not effect the PM, but it will your heart.

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
