I was told by a nail tech manual foot massage is off-limits when you have a pacemaker because of certain pressure points in the feet. Has anyone else heard this from a reliable source?

Where did THAT come from????

Where did THAT come from?
Got a script from my cardiologist for massage therapy.
I saw my licensed massage therapist. Full body massage. I was twitching like frog legs because of sore spots all over. She did my feet. No problems. Actually my hand hurt worse because she found a ganglion cyst - and it hurt. Anywhere else was OK.
She had the table warm, not hot. Not any warmer than sleeping under blankets on a cold night. No problems.
Had me roll over on my stomach - no problems. Finished up on my back - felt good.
About 80% of the stuff I've heard about pacemakers from medical people has been wrong. 100% from non-medical people has been wrong with the exception of this forum.
From my side, go ahead and enjoy the foot massage.

Are you talking to me? Not sure.
The Massage Therapist said a basic foot massage is not the same as reflexology. I don't know why she would turn away business if it wasn't necessary. Don't know what you had.
Connie: momof6 said she had it with no problem so like she suggested check with the professionals/ Doctors or your device manufacturer.
Good luck,

I received a gift certificate and was told we cannot have the foot reflexology treatment. The Massage Therapist is State Certified for 20 Years and said she won't do reflexology on PM/ ICD patients. She said she would also warm the table but then shut if off before I go on it when the time comes.
She came highly recommended so I'll follow her advice....I don't want to test it.

everyone is different and you should always follow the guidelines by your professionals. But, I had reflexology and a heated massage table with no issues 6 weeks after PM implant.
