Pacemaker travel insurnace

I have had my pacemaker for ten years and will receive a new one this summer. My question is how will having the new implant affect my ability to buy travel insurance. My husband and I travel south from Canada to the US for the winter and I am curious if I am going to have trouble getting out of country medical insurance or if there is a waiting period before I will be able to get insurance. I have searched through a number of insurance sites but have been unable to find the answer.
I would appreciate any input.
Thanks

Which insurance company are you using that only requires you to be stable for 3 months.

I have a similar problem, being a Canadian who spends the winters in Palm Springs. My cardiologist has been very accommodating and I hopefully will push off my replacement until just when I return from the US in the spring. Once I have my new ICD for 6 months there will be no issue with attaining extended medical insurance.
Try to have your cardiologist schedule an earlier replacement so you have had no surgery in the six months prior to you leaving Canada. Hopefully if you explain the consequences to your doctor he will be understanding.

Best of luck, I may still have to fly home early if my battery alarm goes off.

My insurance company is the same - 90 days stable with no incidents and then clean to travel. Medoc Insurance. I am Cdn.

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.
