pacemaker

I, too received a pacemaker in 2008 and have experienced all of the anxiety, fear, the ups and downs, the terrible affects of the medication for high blood pressure, irregular heart beats. I am thankful that it saved my life and has helped the other organs in my body to receive the oxygen and etc. to keep them healthy. I continued to mow my yard, till my garden, exercise, and all the things that I did before I received it. I do everything in moderation, eat a low salt, low cholestrol, low acid, low fat, chicken and fish diet and believe it is necessary to keep the heart functioning well. I do know that I will not live one moment longer than God wants me to live, pacemaker or no pacemaker. God grant all of you peace and enjoy every minute that he has allowed each and everyone to live.

Although I share your opinion I don't think its in good taste to belittle someone else's faith on this site. From your many other posts I think you are better than that. My personal philosophy is that order is illusion and chaos is real. We are cast adrift in an indifferent universe, a fly speck in infinite space/time. But the fact is most people believe there is a kindly old gentleman up there somewhere looking out for his flock. Shame on you for saying baaa baaa humbug.

Come on Bill

Where was the kindly old gentleman in the Philippines. then? Having a day off was he ?

I am surprised that you feel it is in bad taste for me to congratulate someone on looking after his own health. I find it is totally inappropriate for people to go on about their faith on this forum.

It is a sad state of affairs

if we believe that this is all there is. Eternity is a fact. And the short time that we live here on this sphere, whether those 5,000 in the Philippines or my mother who passed on after 58 years or her brother who passed on after 42 years or my wife's grandmother who passed on after 95 years, it is all less than a drop in the bucket. The fact is that eternity is a very, very long time and is very, very real. And when you look at the much more bigger and global picture, you just realize that all of them I mentioned just moved on to their own chosen new life. Some refer to that as the after life, but I prefer to call this where we are now the pre-life.

Call me dillusional if you will - I have been called a lot worse. But mocking me will not change what I believe is the truth.

Let's re-focus on the topics of this site and refrain from commenting on others off topic statements be they of faith or politics or whether Prince Charles will become king. Now that I got your attention, let's be nice. = )

WHY

by IAN MC - 2013-12-04 12:12:13

did God not grant the 5000 + people who died in the Philippines typhoon recently a slightly longer life ???

Sorry, 78 + , believe that stuff if you want to , but it simply doesn't stack up . It is your own lifestyle, your genes , your medical care and a fair amount of luck that will determine how long you live ! Everything that YOU are doing so correctly should prolong your life. I hope it does !

Cheers

Well said Barbara !

I will behave… for a short while anyway !

Now, about Prince Charles becoming king , where do I start ? No it's off-topic ,I will keep my views on that to myself but, yes, you certainly got my attention . Have a good day everyone .
