PM movement

Hi all,
I am 9 weeks post PM implant and doing ok, although it has been confirmed now that I did sustain a rotator cuff tear during surgery. I have visited this site a number of times and it certainly has saved me from a few trips to the ER. My question is does anybody experience movement of their PM, some days it is flat others it pokes out on one side. Also it is set very high and when I move my left arm in certain directions it seems to bang against my shoulder and clavicle, this often causes a small amount of pain for a while. Crazy as it seems I also went deaf one week after the op. They are currently investigating what antibiotics were used after implant as some can have these side effects. I have had tests and my hearing loss is significant enough that I need hearing devices ($8000) I certainly will be a bionic woman. Just wondering if anybody else has experienced PM moving around and if so does it eventually settle and stop being caught between shoulder bones etc.

No Movement

I'm 8 weeks post PM. I can't say that I detect any movement with the PM, but I still experience some pain in my shoulder and incision area. It seems mostly to follow around the edge of the PM. I am guessing that it's from arm movement or positioning of my arm. I've been told that it can stay tender for a while. Hope this helps.

Hi Colleen thanks for your reply.
Yes strange re the movement, just hoping it will settle into its little pocket in time. Having osteo treatment for shoulder and it helps a lot

Good luck with your PM

movement

Ask your doctor if he attached it. Mine is attached but there was still some movement. If it isn't, I would insist on it when replaced. But knowing it's attached put my mind at ease, and there has not been any more movement since the swelling went away.
