Nervous - No More - Lucky and Happy

I've written several posting recently. One explaing being nervous as I was told a pacemaker was necessary and I had no information about the events to come. The second posting was how easy the pacemaker insertion went and how fast I felt better.

This my 3rd posting is close to the same as a couple others I have read on this site after surgery
:
Three days after insertion my left arm started swelling/ feeling tender, so I immediatly came to this site to see if others experienced like problem, several had. I continued to read and found their swelling and pain was the result of blood clots.

Again I was nervous, being a weekend, called the "on call" cardiologist and explained the condition, he said to get to hospital ER. After an ultra sound and blood workup, they found 4 clots and let me know I was going to be their guest for a few days, 4 to be exact.
The hospital doctor and nurses at Providence St Mary Hospital in Walla Walla took wonderful care of me. Providing me with a Heparin drip, some stomache shots, and Coumadin. Lots of checking my vitals, blood workup and attention. Provided me with information working with blood clots.

Looking forward, I know a few things will change as we work thru the blood clots situation, I feel much stronger because of the new pacemaker (December 2, 2013) and hope to work thru this problem with ease. It's amazing we have research, doctors and nurses, to help us thru problems that develope, "just because".

So again, I thank those who wrote of "left arm swelling". Made me pay attention and may have saved my life.
