thanks for answering. I go in to the Dr. Nov. 7th. I had a new battery put in 3 years ago. So far I have been lucky & never had any problems.Well , one time the Dr turned it off. I got all the way home before I called. they said come back.

i was last to the pacemaker clinic in london ontario canada last summer mine was then 8 years old. they said starting next august i will be checking in every 6 months. as it will be close to replacement time. i am pretty much dependant on it but they assured me it wont just quit in one day. i am always fearful of the airbags going off if i were in an accident. my p.m. is on my right side. it does not bother me one bit so i am one of the lucky few.

You do not have a 10 year old pm, you have a 3 year old pm.If you got a new 'battery' put in 3 years ago you got a new pm. They do not just change the battery. Like Tracey said, some of them beep (my 1st on did) but mostly you would prob feel more tired. It wouldn't just stop.

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.

At the end, it switches to a mode with all the extra functions cut off. All it does is pace at a steady rate, usually 60 bpm. If you pace a lot, you will feel it when the switch happens. This mode lasts about 3 months. Some of them beep. When is the last time you had it checked?
