Good checkup

Thanks to the members on the forum who regularly chime in. While it doesn't always appear that way, I do listen to you and take what you say into consideration.

Reason for me bringing this up is I just had my 1 - 1/2 year PM checkup. Best ever and my PM said he didn't want to see me for a year. Not that he doesn't like me or anything.... Just doesn't need to see me. Much better than the every three months at first. Down times are fewer and further between.

I can't find the message, but someone on the forum suggested Magnesium supplements for my afib. Someone else suggested a calcium supplement to aid with the cracked ribs. Been taking both and there is a noticeable improvement. Doubters will say it's a mental thing and I won't argue with them, am just ecstatic with the positive results.

So thanks again to everyone for your help. It is greatly appreciated.

Be Careful

I would be a little cautious with this one.

If you're not getting it from natural sources, magnesium supplements can cause you to get a build up of magnesium that can cause arrhythmia and even cause your heart to stop. It depends how much is being stored in the blood stream.

If you notice diarrhea or blood pressure drops, it could be a warning sign.

Mag is good

The above note is not the true story. I'm one of those who has posted about magnesium and its benefits.

Here are the facts. I take 250mg a day.

People use magnesium for diseases of the heart and blood vessels including chest pain, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, high levels of “bad” cholesterol called low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol, low levels of “good” cholesterol called high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, heart valve disease (mitral valve prolapse), and heart attack.

Magnesium is LIKELY SAFE for most people when taken by mouth appropriately or when the prescription-only, injectable product is used correctly. In some people, magnesium might cause stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and other side effects.

Doses less than 350 mg per day are safe for most adults. When taken in very large amounts, magnesium is POSSIBLY UNSAFE. Large doses might cause too much magnesium to build up in the body, causing serious side effects including an irregular heartbeat, low blood pressure, confusion, slowed breathing, coma, and death.

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.
