FDA Recall on Medtronic Wires

Not to scare anyone, but I just read on NBC. Com about the FDA recalling wires made by Medtronic. Has anyone else read this and should I be worried about my newly places pm?

Guide wires

From what I have read i think it is the guide wires that are being recalled- not the PM wires.

I heard it on the news this AM. The Docs will have all the wire numbers and what is recalled. Try your best not to worry yet. You can start if and when they call you. You may not have that particular wire....We can all PRAY for the best outcome of this situation. Bev

Yes it does say guide wires. I saw that and still I goofed. Since I'll not be having any guide wire used on me any time soon I'll remove my comment.

Yes I do know what the guide wires are as I have had some 30+ heart procedures since 1982 where thy had to use a guide wire.

Yes, it refers to the Guide Wires

Sorry to confuse anyone. The FDA warning refers to the Guide Wires the docs use. Nevertheless, I will be asking about this tomorrow at my wound check appointment. Yay, I'm 10 days post pm op! One other thing is that I'm worried I'm using my left arm too much. Am I allowed to bend my elbow up using my hand that way? It's really difficult to remember!

Using left arm

I was told just not to raise my elbow above my shoulder for 6 weeks. Otherwise you can use hand. Don't lift anything heavy.

You know you're wired when...

You always have something close to your heart.
