It might be dangerous

Any type of smoking reduces the oxygen level in your bloodstream and can also constrict your arteries among other things. Weed usually relaxes people but it can also heighten any emotion that he might have already been feeling (anxiety?). It might have been nothing, or it could have been angina. A temporary pain that can signal a potential serious problem. No smoke and its not a joke! Anymore pain he should see his doc.

Say what?

Hello Piya,

Maybe you should ask your friend's doctor.

I'm sure they can shed some light on this question.

I've heard of marijuana used for medicinal purposes, but in the case, I can't think of any.

Just keeping it real dude.

I've hit the bong

So, yeah I tried weed for the first time after having my pacemaker put it. At that point it was little shy of a year of having my little friend implanted. The friends who helped me make up my mind talked to me about the problems I might come too from smoking it--(do you smoke a bong, idk).

At the time I was 25 years old, my friends in their late 20's and late 30's. They have been smoking for years. One thing that was of concern was, it can increase your heart rate. In doing this it can, for people with weak hearts, increase the chance of a heart attack by about 10% for 30 minutes (Maybe an hour). That's why I haven't done it again, but one day I will try it again.

I'm not trying to scare you, I'm just trying to toss the cold hard facts out there to you. I didn't have my heart race, in fact all that happened was I felt like I had been swimming for hours and just got out of the pool. Very heavy, and no longer suicidal/depressed.

Now, I don't know what happened here--but, I know long before my heart was weak that if my heart rate shot up fast my arm would tingle. Perhaps that's all that happened to your friend. His heart rate shot up and his arm tingled a bit.

How ever, it's always better to have him check with his doctor. Mine didn't like the fact that I had tried, he was concerned that if I had a bad trip, that I would have induced a heart attack from the trip. Hope this helps.

You know you're wired when...

You can feel your fingers and toes again.

I am just thankful that I am alive and that even though I have this pacemaker it is not the end of the world.
