I am scheduled to get my PM in just a few weeks. I am a very active 38 year old mother of 3. I live in a very warm climate and spend several months of the year in bikinis, strapless tops, tank tops etc. I had breast augmentation 7 yr ago. Has anyone with existing sub-muscular breast implants had any complication with a sub muscular PM? How about scarring?

You didn't include where you are. I am in south Florida. If you are at all close to me, send me a private message and I can give you the names of my team.
submammary

I do not have breast implants but my pm is submammary, done by a plastic surgeon. I highly recommend having a plastic surgeon assist if your placement is at all out of the ordinary! EP's are concerned with our hearts, with getting the leads in place so they work well. The job of a plastic surgeon is to make it look and feel good. My EP was thrilled/relieved to have the PS help out. They made the incision low enough that it's covered by a tank top and is not bothered by seat belts and bra straps. It does show if I wear something strapless but the scar has faded enough that I don't really care. It's deep enough that no lump shows. I can forget it's there.

I got my PM placed to my far left side, where my arm meets my chest in the crevasse. When my arm is down, you can't even see my scar. I asked for this because I am very active and being top heavy I was worries that gravity would agitate my scar. I've been 3 months post op with no issues at all with bras, seat belts or anything else. They told me it wasn't placed under my muscle but I sure don't see it sticking out anywhere. Sometimes I wonder if it's even there because I can't see or feel it. They did a great job. BTW I got my surgery done at UCI in Southern California.

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.

Hi! I have had implants for 13 years and a pm for 4 years. You should not have any issues with the "girls"at all. I have had several complications with my pm but none associated with sub-muscular implants. May I recommend that you speak to the surgeon and suggest that the pm be off to the side far away from the bra strap. Its a bear for healing unless your going bra free for the rest of your life. I had my pm recently moved and its right under the strap....ugh!
