Thank you

Hi guys I posted a while ago about a procedure I was having. An Av node ablation. Well here's an update. I had my procedure done at the London heart hospital in January and I haven't looked back I've hardly had any episodes of AF and when I have they have been 5seconds or less. Being completely dependent on a battery to literally keep me alive is taking some getting used to I won't lie. On the plus side I feel as though my surgeon and his team have given me my life back. I'm back working full time I'm going out with friends I'm enjoying life again. I'm still having to take my medication but I'm hopping yo come of some of that soon. I'm at my 3month mark next Tuesday and I couldn't b happier. Thank you to everyone who offered me advice . I just wanted to share with u how far I have come from January 2014 to now. I might b living on a battery but I'm grateful for it.
Thank you for helping me on this journey. It's been a rollercoaster of a ride.

I had my op 7th Jan this year previous to that my heart was so erratic one minute it was 95 then 120 then 70 BMP last lasted a whole year with no one able to control it. I jumped at the chance of an av node ablation as I'd already had three ops in 2014 all to no avail. Trust me I thought that was it my life would totally change and I'd have to adapt to a much slower pace. After all I'm only 40 and normally got loads of energy.I couldn't have been more wrong.
As soon as I had the op I felt so much better. I was even well enough to go home the next day. I was cautious probably for the first few weeks simply because I was so used to my ops failing. Within a week of being home I was going out shopping on my own. Walking up and down the stairs at home(previously I would only b able to walk up then then take a rest before I walked back down). Within 3 weeks I was walking to my local shop which is a twenty min walk from my house with no problems at all. I was back at work after 6 weeks and the amount of people who told me I looked so much better was incredible. I have so much more energy again. I don't play sports myself but if when u have your ablation you feel as good as me u don't see why you shouldn't be able to play lawn bowls. If I can roll around on the floor with my 3 nephews and dog you are going to be fine. Good luck with yours. Will be thinking of you. Trust me you won't regret it. I only regret putting it off for a year because I was afraid. All the best. And here's to you back playing lawn bowls in no time. All the best. Victoria.

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
