Is there something out there i can get without having to have a landline? I heard there was something wireless out there but that is $16 extra a month. I may be a week at a time without a landline to check in. I also heard there were apps for cell phones. Anyone know of anything? Thank you

checking in

How crucial is it to check in that often? Most of us can skip checks for a week or two, discuss it with your dr. I don't even have the home check set up! I go in every 3 months, that's it.

If you have a Medtronic you can go Cellular. I just spoke with a Tech at Medtronic and they will mail you a brochure. It is separate from your cell phone and costs $10.99 a month. He said they have many patients that don't have land lands, so this works perfectly. I definitely plan to do this. The phone number is 1-763-514-4000. I am sure that if Medtronic has a cellular system, St Jude's and other companies would as well.

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
