I ended up loosing 5 pounds and I think it was due to stress and a bit of depression from getting it implanted. I kept it off but keep it in mind if it is actually worrying you.

I was in CCU for 10 days before they finally decided to implant the PM. During that time, since my heart rate was so low and I was confined to bed I grew weaker and weaker. by the time I got home I had lost 30 pounds and to date i have put back 5. Had to get new cloths and uniforms for work. Once the pacemaker in implanted and turned on your body starts profusing (moving fluids around) in a normal way. I had the sensation feeling more alive almost as soon as they turned on the PM. I totally, and I know this a lot of info, filled up an entire urinal while I was still on the cath lab table. Your heart cannot be the pump it supposed to be with a low rate and so when the PM starts working and fluids start to move again you should feel better, and yes perhaps many pounds lighter. Good luck!!

I've lost 1.5 pounds since pacemaker implantation. I was already at an excellent weight for my height -- 4'11" -- 109.5 -- lots of muscle. This weight loss occurred during the first 2 weeks after implantation. The first week I do no workouts at all, as directed. The 2nd week I did 45 min each day on a stationary bike at a low intensity. Normally I do body pump, yoga, aqua aerobics and outdoor biking but the cardioligist's team said no weight lifting no outdoor biking no submersion in our pool for a few more weeks. I don't mind this weight loss but it seems weird. and I doubt if it's muscle loss as I think that would not happen in 2 weeks of relative inactivity.  Anyone else experiencing this?

You fondly named your implanted buddy.

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.
