good book

I just finished a book by Dick Cheney and his doctor, Reiner called "Heart". It was amazing. I learned so much about the functions of our heart and all that can go wrong, but also all the medical advances. It is full of cardio history of medical techniques and gadgets. A disclaimer: I am not a fan of Cheney, never thought I would read a word he wrote, but for the most part he kept out politics. I was not offended even once by his rhetoric. He trades off with his doctor writing in the first person, so we see a truly human side of a cardiologist. It is a fascinating read of a person who should have died many times, but medical advances gave him back his life. If you are interested in educating yourself on the heart, and need some inspiration, I recommend it.

But does he have any warmth in his soul

Might read the book from a scientific interest. Think Cheney lost his humanity long ago.

I don't believe Cheney ever had any humanity. No putting politics aside for me. This is an evil man and I have no interest in reading a book he is part of. I can get all the information I need elsewhere.

I plan on reading his book too.

I know you are having a hard time right now....we all recover at our own pace. You will get there.

So you do you think the book has helped you a little? I hope so.

Feel free to private message me if you would like to talk.

yes, I think learning more about this amazing organ and how much of this stuff is pretty recent (ICD's came about in the 90's) gives me a much better perspective. So much could go wrong, but my sitution is fixable. I am working on acceptance. My wonderful husband is such a help, as are folks on this site. Thank you, Grateful Heart, for your kind comments.
