On Christmas eve my husband was the proud recipient of a St. Judes dual wire pacer, exactly like the one I got in September.
As he is more active, we are trying to figure out his use of electric yard trimmers. There are some restrictions posted in places on ones with gasoline engines, but he uses electric hedge trimmers. His is Black and Decker hedge trimmers are 3.3 AMPs, 60 Mhz and 2800 CPM on plate. Any thoughts on these and the pacer.
He also has some cutters tht are 4.5 Amps and a 12 AMp small electric chain saw.
He is seeing the St. Judes folks for first month checkup so he can ask them also.
Since I last posted a long time ago, I am doing very well considering all my other health issues.

I'm always fascinated that everyone's concern about interferences focus on men with power tools. No-one ever questions whether food processors, electric kettles, stick blenders, stand mixers, vacuum cleaners etc will cause difficulties for the operator. I've not seen one post questioning whether someone should still be using all these household appliances!
I'm 100% paced, and use electric string trimmers and drills without any change in my rhythm. The kitchen stuff doesn't create a difficulty either :)
Don, you're lucky I know you write tongue-in-cheek, with that last sentence. I thought it was the guys who never actually read the manual . . . .

...write tongue in cheek? Nah! Never! I'm an injunear, I wouldn't do a thing like that.''
You asked, I'll tell you about all that "Girly" stuff. It has special female pheromone sensors & when female comes by, it clicks in special filters & shielding to make sure that they are safe & will Not affect a woman's PM or ICD. That's because they are designed by MEN who aren't fools. They look out for one another. BTW: The reason you've used all those Guy tools safely is that your Husband bought a can of that Testosterone spray stuff for under arms. He sneaked it into your deodorant dispenser. Have you noticed your voice getting deeper & hair growing on your face? If so, don't worry about it - he'll lend you his razor.
That's like my first college roommate who flunked out in Math end of first semester in Jan 1956. He went back to MN & finished his EE degree, got a job w/ Medtronic & has been watching out for us men ever since. I think he was last man in his class. Haven't seen him in nearly 58 yrs. Wonder if he can add yet. Hmmmmm.
Ever read the novel "The Stepford Wives?" That'll give you a clue.

More for your Husband's ...

...eyes only.
I use lots of hand power tools - drills, routers, skil saws, reciprocating saws, power planers, etc.
All size batteries - 12 through 24 Volts. All sorts of conditions - brand new through old & having sparking commutators..
I don't even worry about keeping them away from my PM. On occasion, I've had my sternum right up against the back end of a big drill to put pressure on it while drilling through concrete w/ the hammer drill function. ZERO effect. Been doing that for years.
Realize that we all react differently, so if you are going to use these tools, check them out by gradually getting closer to them to see if they will affect YOUR PM.
For use w/ your wife, lawnmowers, trimmers, washers, dryers & other household appliances have a built-in gender sensing capability & when they sense male hormones they will activate a special circuit that will affect the man's PM if he has one. Information on that feature is hidden in very small typeface material in the back of the operators manual.
Women do not even realize it is in there because it is written in technical jargon, & does not use the terms "Thingy or Doodad."

Both gas and electric hand tools, yard tools, chain saws etc. I keep them away from my chest and no problems. I doubt if my Medtronic is special.
