I had my 6 week follow up and interrogation today. As promised in an earlier post, I am reporting off:) this must be the day of rude techs! I recall having this miserable woman before. I believe she must hate people, or maybe the world itself; as a cow being shuffled into cattle shoots awaiting their impending death, must be happier than this woman. I had inquired about some of my settings, which I assume pissed her off even more. I asked about my lower limit being raised to 70 as a trial to see if I felt a bit better. She was having no parts of this conversation , saying it's never been higher than 60 and that's what it's staying at. I then asked for a print out of the report, and after telling her they are MY reports, please copy them.... She finally handed some over. I then went to see my EP who is incredible!! Discussed about raising the lower limit to see if it's helpful . He said ...". Sure why not, worse case it doesn't work and we lower it". He told "nurse ratchet " to change my settings which she did, but not without her smart a$$ comments. She replied with " you are going to hate it at 70, you'll be back soon to have me lower it" needless to say as I checked out I requested my next appt be with someone else. I have had amazing techs there, but none as rude as her. Needless to say, she will no longer be interrogating me1 sorry about the rant..... Other than that, I go back to work next Monday ... Bitter/sweet;) and so far, I feel amazing at my settings 70/120!!

every hospital around the world has some kind of complaint department or a liason who you can speak with....do some research of your hospital (if you want to) and find out where you can officially lodge a complaint or concern about this person - they will be spoken to and maybe that is all it will take for her not to be so dam rude in the future to other patients.

Tomorrow

I am going for an Interrogation in the morning. So far the nurse/tech has refused to give me a copy of the report, so I have to remember to ask some questions and try to remember the answers. In the past my cardiologist seemed amused that the tech was not forthcoming with more info, he didn't think anything was top secret lol.

I had my latest interrogation this morning. Everything went well. My Afib episodes are way down. Atrial pacing dropped from 92% to 88%, and ventricle pacing is about the same at 1%.
The new nurse/tech gave me a copy of the report (12 pages), no problem, she had a great attitude.
They are NOT all Nurse Ratchet!

Went to see my Cardio for a cardio clearance for hernia surgery lasterday,
Saw his nurse, Carrie, who did an ECG & download on me. After the ECG she had to change machines in the mop closet he calls an exam room, so I asked her if I could see my ECG print out. As she wheeled the cart past me, she handed the sheet to me. Brought the Interrogator in (Rubber hose length was sitting on the side of the cart), ran the report & handed that to me as she rolled that cart out. Came back in, took the two reports to the Great Man for perusal. Came back in 5 min & handed me Xerox copies of the reports. Told me I was good to go for the surgery, showed me where the Great Man had reviewed the reports & what he'd been looking for, wished me well & we both left on a cheery note.
ON the way into the inner sanctum, we passed the nurses' station & all members of the gaggle (pod, pride, school, congress, gang, flock, covey, coven, whatever) of nurses waved & said "Hi!".
He's only had two nurses that qualified as a Ratchet & they both got summarily fired because of their personality.

It's very difficult when the medical professionals won't listen to us. Many of us have been there.
I also don't know why people have to be mean and rude.....it takes so much negative energy.
The good news is your EP sounds like a keeper. Glad he listened and you are feeling better already.

I think ...

..that I should send a Thank You card to my PM med staff. After reading some of the horror stories others have gone through I feel so fortunate that the Dr, NP, and PM techs I see are so helpful. They all seem to really enjoy that I want my interrogation report (and yes it belongs to ME, I paid for it) and ask questions. They all seem to like to explain things, though they are busy and can't spend all day chatting with me.
Hope that those with bad medical folks can change them.
