I was just curious to see the percent people are pacing at.
I pace 56% which I think is a lot..... Oh we'll at least I'm pacing:)

Percent/Pacce

Hi Sgates 1210,

Good question. It will be interesting to see what answers you get.

I have always paced at 100% due to an AV Node ablation.

Many Blessings!

Pacing

I have a CRT- D and pace 100% in the ventricles and at last interrogation, 87% in the atria.

The atria pacing can vary a bit since I have a slight underlying rate, but it's always up there.

Just so grateful for these devices and that we get what we need. :-)

I am pacing 100% atria and 100% ventricles due to SA and AV-node ablation.

But the 100% usually does not mean that one cannot live without the pacemaker. We all have some escape rhythm in the ventricles; might take several seconds to kick in, but it does kick in eventually. I read here often that people say they flatflined due to a heart block. But a flatline is no electrical activity at all while in heart block the atria will pump, so there is a p-wave. Also, some people say that they paddles were used on them because they flatflined due to heart block. But you can use the paddles only when there is ventricular fibrillation or ventricular tachycardia; with a flatfline you can give all kinds of drugs, but shocking someone won't help at all.

So, I say it's rather a question of quality of life. I could not walk around without the pacemaker, but I wouldn't be dead either. My quality of life depends on the pacemaker, but not my life.

Daughter (13) paced 100% ventricle 12.4% atrium.

Paced for most of life and always will be.

100%. Sparky never misses a beat. Life is good.

Like all othe things...

...it's a spectrum of percents.

I pace about 99+ % in my Atria. About 1 % in my ventricles.

There area lot of 100% pacers in here, so you are apiker!

I pace about 1% atria and 100% ventricle which is just exactly the right amount. :-)

I am pacing at 0% in the atria and 100% in my ventricles. Like I said before, I would be dead without my little friend!!

My pm was put in because my heart rate was going too low or stopping at moments while I slept. It's only a few beats a day, but without my pm, it could mean I never wake up.

100%. Thumpalina never misses a beat. Life is very, very good:)

I was diagnosed with complete heart block, but for some reason both my atria and ventricles are off line. I'm 100% paced in the ventricles and 86% paced in the atria. This little computer really does keep me ticking.

interesting...

I just got checked last week -- i use it 8% and most of that was atrial -- the last day it went off was Sept 9th

i find it interesting that most of you who arent 100% use it more in the lower than top... I am obviously not dependent and use it on the top more ...

i have sick sinus syndrome - which is my electrical system messing up... i find it weird that I feel so much better since I got it - but it barely turns on at all...

You know you're wired when...

You have a shocking personality.

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!
