Sydney. Just waiting at Heathrow for the last leg of a 23 hour trek to Paris from Sydney via Dubai and London. At Sydney - no problem just through the full body scanner, no fuss non invasive and minimal delay. At Dubai - well they didn't really understand what I was telling them when I said I had a pacemaker. So when I politely insisted I wasn't going through the machine, she called the supervisor and we settled on the fact that I'd had an operation. I was taken to a private cubicle for a pat down and wanding, but she asked if I'd had a knee op. Heathrow wins for thoroughness, but then I've had that before the pm. On the plus s I haven't had to produce the card yet.

Wand?

They used a wand? For which parts of your body? If they used it all over your body, chest area, too, this is worse than walking through a metal detector...
My personal nightmare was Amsterdam Schiphol. The group traveling with me thought the security officer (female) was going to rape me... Worst experience ever.
I always have to show my card.

Heathrow !!!!!!!

Hi Suroy Heathrow is my local airport and I have used it several times since having a PM . There is one lady Security officer after check-in who I avoid at all costs.
She seems to get some bizarre thrill out of running her hand over, and sometimes squeezing, the PM site and always asks " Is that your pacemaker ? "
Any suggestions for a good answer to her question ?
Enjoy Paris
Cheers
