I'm 32, had my PM put in a little over a month ago (7/31/13). My HR was consistently very slow, avg'd about 35-40 resting HR. I ran track (sprinter) back in school. I've always been very active, and I'm constantly moving (cleaning, laundry, cooking for family of 6...I have 4 kids. Go, Go, GO!!!
My dr never called me after the procedure. Never had a follow-up. I'd only met him a cpl times. I don't see a cardiologist regularly. I only got the device put in after I was put in ICU overnight, when I went to the ER and I had a heartrate down into the low 30's. At one point it went down to 28bpm...this was very interesting to the dr's! They found me fascinating, to say the least...lol.
The only reason I was able to have it done was because I had pregnancy Medicaid at the time. They were all amazed that I even carried my son through, as well as I did.
Shortly after the procedure, my ins was cancelled.
Enough rambling, though...my concern is this:
I get a sharp, burning pain in my shoulder area, just above the incision site. Now, my incision site is healed, a small light scar is all. The glue lasted for about 3 wks. I didn't touch, pick at or vigorously wash the area.
Is this occasional annoying pain normal? Been thinking it may be the muscles growing back together, where they cut through.
Anyone else have any weird, occasional pains like this, after your procedure?

Like TraceyE said, just be sure to watch for swelling, oozing, redness, and fever..The burning sensation is probably just the healing process. Give yourself some time to heal.
Guess we are all at the mercy of Obamacare at this point. We'll have to see how all this plays out. I have been considering retiring, but I don't want to leave my job with insurance just yet. It will be interesting to see how this whole health care system will work, especially with pre-existing conditions...
I just read the member quote here... "My muscles are very sore but each day it gets better and my range of movement is improving"... Sounds familiar...Hope you start feeling better soon. This club is a wonderful place to learn and share information. Welcome !

I am 33 and had my surgery a day before yours on 7-30-13. I still experience alot of different feelings inside and the outside of the area. They say it can take 6 to 10 months before you actually feel somewhat normal. Sometimes the weather affects the pains as well sometimes more than normal.
It just takes time:)

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.

It's pretty normal as the nerves knit back together. Keep an eye out for new swelling, redness, streaking, oozing, fever.
You now have what's known as a pre-existing condition. Until we figure out how Obamacare is going to work, keeping insured is going to be tricky. I've always made sure I or my husband works for a large company with a group policy. On the large policies, they have to take pre-existing.
And 32 is practically old, I was 27 :oP
